There is no single Canadian age on this site.
How to rent a car under 21, the minimum age to rent a car in Canada, and whether you can rent under 25 are the searches. They feel like they should have one official number. In practice, suppliers set ages, and those ages can differ for a luxury car, a large van, a young driver fee, or a particular province.
Ebomim will not invent “the” minimum age. Publishing a number we do not hold would send people into a booking that fails at the counter. If you are under 25, say so at the start of any future request. If you are under 21, say that too. The answer may be no, and it is better known early.
Practical
What usually gets harder.
Younger drivers are more often asked for a fee, refused on a premium car, or limited in who else may drive. A credit-card benefit may also have its own age condition. None of those fees are listed here.
A full licence matters more than a learner’s permit. An international driver should read driver requirements alongside this page. Age does not replace licence class.
Choosing an ordinary car rather than a luxury car or a large passenger van is often the more realistic request. That is a planning observation, not a guarantee of acceptance.

Do not borrow an older driver’s name.
The person who signs should be the person who is allowed to drive. Putting the rental in someone else’s name so a younger driver can take the car is how agreements and insurance fall apart. This site will not describe how to do that.
