Routes

One-way car rental

Pickup in one place and drop-off in another. The route is the product, and not every route exists.

The decision

A different drop-off is the whole point.

People ask about one-way trips through Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Kelowna, and Halifax. They are relocating, ending a trip in another downtown, or refusing to retrace a long highway.

Trucks, cargo vans, and panel vans raise the same route question. Those are not separate mysteries. They are one-way rentals of a larger vehicle. Read truck rental or cargo van rental for the load, and stay here for the route.

A low daily figure can be overtaken by a one-way condition. Ask the company for the full condition before you treat a headline number as the trip.

Routes

Name both ends.

Use the planner’s different drop-off field so the plan contains both places. A one-way from Toronto to Montreal is not the same plan as Toronto to Calgary. Distance, season, and which direction a rental company can support are that company’s questions. This site does not know which direction is easy.

Kelowna to Vancouver, Calgary to Edmonton, Halifax toward another Atlantic city, Ottawa to Montreal: each is plausible as a human plan and unconfirmed as an offer. City pages explain the driving once you are underway: Ottawa, Montreal, Kelowna, Vancouver.

Airports

Many one-ways start on a flight and end downtown somewhere else.

An airport pickup with a downtown drop in another city combines two pages: the airport guide for the start, and this page for the fact that the car will not come back. Late flights make the first evening short. Do not plan a same-night mountain drive on top of a one-way you have not confirmed.

Cross-border one-ways are a further step. If a route leaves Canada, assume extra conditions and read driver requirements. Nothing on this site authorises a border crossing.

Questions

Before you decide

Will every city pair be possible?

No. This page explains the request. It does not confirm routes.

Are one-way trucks included?

They are the same route idea with a larger vehicle. Use the truck page for the load.

Does one-way mean a fee?

Often suppliers structure it that way. No fee is stated here.

How do I record both places?

Tick different drop-off on the planner and enter the second place.

Next

Note the place and the dates.

The planner records a pickup, a return, and an optional vehicle class. Ebomim does not reserve a car or publish a rate.
