The city
Why a car comes up in Hamilton.
Hamilton car rental is the Niagara-bound and escarpment version of a southern Ontario week. The QEW connects it to Toronto and to the peninsula. Downtown Hamilton and the mountain brow are not the same elevation, which visitors notice the first time they choose the wrong exit.
It is not a Toronto page. Pearson is still a drive east. If the flight defines the trip, start at Pearson and treat Hamilton as the destination.
Vehicles
What people usually need here.
Most visitors need an ordinary car. A special occasion still belongs on luxury, and the roads are still the escarpment and the QEW.
Driving
The roads that decide the vehicle.
The escarpment, the QEW, and a local street grid of one-way decisions are the driving. A compact car is enough in the lower city. An SUV is easier if the week includes the peninsula or a winter evening on the highway.
Traffic toward Toronto at the wrong hour will erase a tight appointment. Plan the clock, not the kilometre count alone.

Season
The year is not one trip.
Winter is lake-effect mess and a dark QEW. Summer is a Niagara day-trip season. Leave extra time when the lake weather and the evening commute meet.
Beyond
Nearby, without pretending it is the same city.
Toronto is east along the QEW. Niagara is the other direction. Both are day trips from Hamilton, and both are different drives from the lower city.
Questions
Before you decide
Is Hamilton part of Toronto?
No. It is a separate city on the QEW.
Where do most Hamilton trips start?
Often Pearson, then the QEW west. Ask the company where the car actually is.
Which airport?
Pearson is the usual large arrival, and it is not in Hamilton.
What should I ask before a Niagara day?
Whether the car may leave the city, how fuel is handled, and whether a winter tire is on the car.

The planner records a pickup, a return, and an optional vehicle class. Ebomim does not reserve a car or publish a rate.
