The city
Why a car comes up in Surrey.
Surrey is family neighbourhoods, truck routes, and a commute toward Vancouver that depends on a bridge or a tunnel. Downtown Vancouver is a different base.
YVR is on Sea Island, closer to Richmond than to most of Surrey. If you land there, read Vancouver airport and then decide whether Surrey is actually the base.
Season
The year is not one trip.
Rain is the default. Snow is an occasional disruption that the region takes seriously when it arrives. Summer is long light and bridge congestion. Build the meeting time around the crossing, not the distance.
Vehicles
What people usually need here.
A low luxury car is a poor fit for a highway week. Read pickups if the open bed is the reason you need a vehicle.
Driving
The roads that decide the vehicle.
Bridge traffic is the product. A meeting in Vancouver from Surrey is a timing problem. Local arterials are a parking and school-run problem. A compact car fits many household weeks. A pickup fits a job site better than a downtown evening.
Abbotsford and the Fraser Valley continue east. That city has its own page because the valley is not Surrey.

Beyond
Nearby, without pretending it is the same city.
Vancouver is across the river. Abbotsford is up the valley.
Questions
Before you decide
Is Surrey the same as Vancouver?
No. The river is the point.
Is YVR in Surrey?
No.
Should I pick up in Surrey or at the airport?
If the hotel or the job is in Surrey, start there. If you have just landed, start with the Vancouver airport guide.
Which vehicle for a commute?
Usually an ordinary car, chosen with the bridge schedule in mind.

Note the place and the dates.
The planner records a pickup, a return, and an optional vehicle class. Ebomim does not reserve a car or publish a rate.
