Whitehorse car rental is a different problem from a southern city page. Distances are long, services thin out, and winter daylight is a planning constraint. People rent to arrive, to work, and to reach a trailhead or another community that is not a casual errand.

The year is not one trip.
Winter is long and dark at the edges of the day. Summer is light, dust, and visitors. Both seasons deserve a vehicle you trust more than a vehicle you want to photograph.

Prefer an SUV or a straightforward car with a winter plan over a luxury coupe. If the load is equipment, look at pickups and still confirm licence class for anything larger.
Driving
The roads that decide the vehicle.
Highways are the city plan as soon as you leave the core. Gravel, wildlife, and a closed feeling after dark are ordinary cautions, not folklore. A compact car can be enough in town in mild weather and a poor story in January on a long road.
Fuel and time belong in the plan. Read mileage and fuel as a way of thinking about distance.
